November Newsletter

November will be BIG for Chesterton Academy of St. John the Evangelist!

As we wind down October and the air cools, our quest to bring Charlottesville a high school joyfully rooted in the Catholic tradition is only heating up! We have two key happenings in November. But first...

G.K. Chesterton Quote of the Month:

“That is the one eternal education; to be sure enough that something is true that you dare to tell it to a child.”

Last Call for Annapolis Trip!

We have a few more seats on the bus to visit Chesterton Academy of Annapolis this Wednesday, October 25th. If you've considered it but are on the fence, is the Holy Spirit nudging you to come take a look? Preference will be given to students who will be 9th and 10th graders next year. Virtus-trained chaperones are available if parents are not able to accompany their student(s). If your student has a friend that might be interested, invite them along! We'll observe classes, talk to current students and faculty, and have plenty of Q&A. Get full details and RSVP today via our web site.

November: Two Special Engagements with Dale Ahlquist

Dale Ahlquist is co-founder of Chesterton Academy, President of the Society of Gilbert Keith Chesterton, and creator and host of the EWTN series “G.K. Chesterton: The Apostle of Common Sense.” We are thrilled to host him in Charlottesville for two events:

Friday, Nov 10th: Prospective Families Event

From his personal experience launching a Chesterton Academy with his family and his professional experience helping launch 56 Academies to-date, Dale Ahlquist will share key insights for founding families. He’ll respond to parent and student questions on the school’s philosophy and curriculum, as well as practical aspects of student and community life. Come hear it from the source! RSVP by Oct. 27th.

Saturday, Nov 11th: First Annual “Friend-raiser” for Chesterton Academy of Saint John the Evangelist

Calling all supporters of CASJE! We are excited to host our inaugural “Friend-raiser”! Featured speaker Dale Ahlquist will share how this grassroots movement in education is a true solution to problems plaguing education today. If you are ready to partner with us and help financially support a "high school with a higher purpose," come enjoy this special evening on Nov. 11th! Cocktails and hors d'oeuvres will be served. Business attire suggested. RSVP by Oct. 27th.
