Job Posting: Receptionist and Administrative Assistant | Full Time

Chesterton Academy, a classical high school joyfully rooted in the Catholic faith, seeks an experienced, energetic, personable, and self-motivated receptionist and administrative assistant to perform various school functions. This individual is an integral part of the team and is responsible for assisting in the administrative operation of the school. Experience in the education or non-profit sector is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities include:

  • Answer the phone and greet guests during regular operating hours during the school year.

  • Assist in school business functions, including: tuition billing and collection, purchasing and vendor contact, and other business administration activities, including:

    • Student record and admissions database entry

    • Vendor contact for school pilgrimages

  • Execute policies, procedures, and internal controls to safeguard students, protect confidential information, and ensure accurate record keeping

  • Conduct school communications

  • Assist Headmaster and Development Director in secretarial capacity

Qualifications:

  • Practicing Catholic including an oath of fidelity to the Magisterium

  • Solid analytical, organizational and planning skills with excellent attention to detail

  • Strong organizational, written and oral communication, and interpersonal skills

  • Demonstrated strength in financial and office record-keeping; non-profit bookkeeping experience preferred

  • Computer skills with facility in Word, FACTS, and Excel preferred

  • Two years of relevant experience preferred
