High School With a Higher Purpose is Here!

June saw us preparing our new space for an August launch, hosting a poetry workshop and camp, and making progress towards our fundraising goal. More to share, but first...

G.K. Chesterton Quote of the Month:

MANY HANDS, JOYFUL WORK!
We are so grateful to those who helped with our recent events, school painting, and fundraising efforts. We'd like to thank:

  • Our "Catholic Hoos" interns from the University of Virginia, who assisted with painting, recruiting events, and our poetry workshop

  • Other volunteer painters: The Knights of Columbus Council 2518, the father of an enrolled student, several board members' spouses and children, as well as our board chair's niece and nephew

  • The husband and wife who gave us a grant to beautify our space with sacred and classical art

  • The family that donated a ping pong table for our recreation room

  • Muse, a locally owned company that donated our entrance logo wall

  • A benefactor who donated his 1,000-book classical library to CASJE

  • Everyone who contributed towards our $500k fundraising goal (we

are still in need of $100k to begin our school year fully funded; tax-deductible contributions can be made online or by check)

To all who have helped in ways great and small, we extend our heartfelt thanks.

COMING UP: Open House & Donor Appreciation Events

Sunday, Aug. 4th, 12-2 pm: Open House for Interested Families
Whether your student is a current high schooler or a middle schooler looking ahead, we invite you to come see our space, meet our headmaster and faculty, and see where life-changing learning will take place. From our Socratic seminar classroom to our recreation room where CASJE students will take Taekwondo, to our dedicated art and music room where they'll learn to draw, paint, and sing as a choir, we're creating a classical learning environment unlike any other in Charlottesville.

Saturday, Aug. 17th: Donor Appreciation Event & Site Tour

We would not be opening our doors without the generous support of our donor community. We invite our patrons to come tour the school they made possible and enjoy some refreshments. We'll also have our space blessed, pending priest availability. Invitation email to follow.

HEADMASTER'S PERSPECTIVE
Philosophy as Love of Wisdom:
Beginning in Wonder and Culminating in Knowledge
Find out how the philosopher Socrates' habit of asking the “What is?” question in every field of study is a core feature of academic life at CASJE. Our students not only learn the history of philosophy but will discover how it relates to theology and faith and is indispensable to an authentic Catholic education. HIGH SCHOOLERS: DON'T MISS THE ADVENTURE--JOIN US THIS YEAR!

If you are feeling called to meet your full academic and spiritual potential, there's still time to apply! Attend the Aug. 4 Open House or arrange a private tour. Learn about our admissions process and tuition assistance. If you're seeking an environment that is academically challenging, joyfully Catholic, and that will foster authentic friendships, look no further!

Until next time, thank you for sharing this journey towards a high school with a higher purpose!
